Training Considerations

Undertaking language training is no different to committing to any other expenditure in your business: in the end, you will have to take a decision based on the benefits you will gain compared with the investment you will have to make. Here are some key aspects to think about.

Think carefully about the type of course that would suit you, and which provider you choose. People learn in different ways so you need to think carefully about what suits you and your workforce, and of course how you can fit it into your weekly schedule. Do you want it on-site or at a college or the provider's premises? It may be more cost effective to have a small group rather than one-to-one training.

Lastly, language learning is not a quick fix. Everyone's brain is hard wired into their mother tongue, and as adults, this affects the way we learn a second language. To effectively reprogramme your brain requires motivation and commitment from the learner, a dynamic and well-delivered course from the provider - and time. Nobody will make you fluent in Polish in six weeks, although the level that you will achieve in this time could still prove very useful.
