qualified and experienced in both translation and, if your material is of a specialised
nature, your field. Consider commissioning translation work as you would any other
supplier arrangement. - Ask
for references or examples of previous work.

- Ensure
it is clear exactly what is included in your contract with the translator, translation
company or agency.
- Look to see how much time they
have spent learning about your company and sector.
Keep
in mind that professional freelance translators do not cover all languages. They
generally specialise in one or two languages and, often, in particular sectors
or types of translation. They should only translate into their mother tongue.
